Tales of Symphonia is a quality game. It's done a pretty good job of eating up my free time since I bought it last Saturday. I logged a hell of a lot of play time on it today, what with the not having to work and all. I think it'd be more fun to play with 2-4 people but still, much fun to be had.

Question of the YesterDay was to name a Batman villian or an actor that portrayed a Batman villian excluding the ones I listed off the top of my head. Nobody got it though so the points go back into the 5 point sack.

I had a very bizarre dream last night. It wasn't bizarre in that it was particularly non-sensical or anything like that. It was bizarre in that it was highly coherent. It was basically a movie (a kinda campy sci-fi thriller), complete with scene fades, musical cues and it even had a shocking twist, set up for a sequel ending (with dramatic music) that managed to synch up with when my alarm went off. Crazy.

Quote of the YesterDay:
Commissioner Gordon: It could be any one of them... But which one? Which ones?
Batman: Pretty *fishy* what happened to me on that ladder...
Commissioner Gordon: You mean where there's fish there could be a penguin?
Robin: But wait! It happened at sea... Sea. C for Catwoman!
Batman: Yet, an exploding shark was pulling my leg.
Commissioner Gordon: The Joker!
Chief O'Hara: All adds up to a sinister riddle... Riddle-R. Riddler!
Commissioner Gordon: A thought strikes me... So dreadful I scarcely dare give it utterance...
Batman: The four of them... Their forces combined...
Robin: Holy nightmare!

For this one I you had to name the actors who played the villians. The answers: Frank Gorshin - Riddler, Lee Merriweather - Catwoman, Cesar Romero - Joker, Burgess Merideth - Penguin

Question of the Day:
Keeping with the villians from the original Batman series/movie theme I've decided to compile a list of actors/villians from the 60s Batman TV show. If you can add one name to the list (either someone who played a Batman villian or the villian) you get a whopping 5 points. (No looking it up online either or Batman will cry!)

Frank Gorshin - Riddler, Lee Merriweather, Eartha Kitt, Julie Newmar - Catwoman, Cesar Romero - Joker, Burgess Merideth - Penguin, Mad Hatter (with his diabolical hat factories), Archer, Puzzler, Siren, Nora Clavicle (the EVIL femenist), Marsha (Queen of Diamonds), Bookworm (Never hit a man with glasses!), FlaseFace, Liberace (don't remember the name of the villian he played though), King Tut - Victor Buono, Mr. Freeze (3 guys played him but I remember none of their names), Egghead - Vincent Price, Olga (Queen of the Cossacs), Shame (the cowboy), Lord Fog and Lady Peasoup, Green Hornet and Kato - Bruce Lee (not really villians but Batman and Robin thought they were), Louie the Lilac - Milton Berle (cause there's nothing as evil as being named for a flower),

Add just one name and you can get much points. I almost certianly missed some recurring villians too (I came really close to forgetting about Louie)

A rather odd collection of calls came my way at work today. For the most part the calls weren't that unusual (though there were a few exceptionally PC illiterate types), it's just that I seemed to get mainly problems that required a fairly high number of steps to resolve. We don't get a daily talk time average but if we did I'd guess mine was probably rather close to 30 minutes today (which is about double my normal average). Not that long calls are necessarily worse (unless you're dealing with someone bitchy and/or dumb). I do hope for an increase in the shorter calls tomorrow though as I'd like more green time on my long shift of the week.

Quote of the YesterDay: "It happened at sea... Sea. C for Catwoman!"
- Robin

Granger guessed this one correctly.

Quote of the Day:

Obviously there's no who said what to guess, I just thought the entire brillant deduction deserved to be quoted. If you do want to score some points though name at least 3 of the 4 actors who played Catwoman, Joker, Penguin and Riddler in the movie quoted above.

While at work tonight, I noticed something rather stupid about our change machine. Apparently whoever designed the label wanted it to be generic so instead of showing a $5/$10/$20 bill in the diagram showing one how to insert money, it's a white rectangle with blue arrows. This allows one to deduce that to get change you must put a bill into the machine (in case anyone was thinking you had to take a bill out to get change). There's no indication as to what side should be up nor which end of the bill should go in. Best diagram ever.

Good ol' alcohol...

I wonder went percentage of my posts contain me just blabbering on about how I don't really have the energy to write much. I'd probably say a good 10% or so. I really should work on getting that number down.

I would just not post on nights when I've got nothing I feel like writing about (this is not one of those nights or else I'd be talking about being drained instead of talking about talking about being drained) but I know me well enough to know that I'd get lazy and then a good portion of the nights where I did have something interesting to post, I wouldn't post. And eventually I'd probably get to posting once every couple weeks, and then once every couple months and then the blog would just kind of peter out into nothingness.

By forcing myself to write SOMETHING, even when I don't feel like it, is a big part of keeping this blog alive. It probably helps my writing ability at least somewhat as the more I post the (theoritically) better I should get at it.

Quote of the YesterDay: "You know I'm violently opposed to police brutality."
- Commissioner Gordon

I think that's gotta be one of my favorite lines from Batman.

Man, trip home Sunday's are draining. I think I've figured out that it's pretty much connected with the bizarrely early wake up time. Most days I wake up after 12 and on those days I have to get up between 9 and 10:30 usually. Of course, I got before 10 on Friday and had little sleep without feeling all that worn out so maybe that's not it after all.

Quote of the YesterDay: "Plenty of girls and bands and slogans and lots of hoopla, but remember, no politics. Issues confuse people."
- Penguin

I almost didn't use this one just because I thought the post would have made it too obvious. Apparently it didn't. It's a great quote though (which I why I decided to use it anyway).

I could do some Sunday shopping related bitching tonight but I figure I should wait until Nova Scotia officially reaffirms its status as a backwater berg before I do that (which 2 of the 3 options succeed in doing. At least in my opinion.).

While I was driving from Moncton yesterday I had a lot of time to kill. As is often the case my mind wandered through a wide variety of topics. One thing I was thinking about is the upcoming US election. For some reason this lead to me thinking about the episode of Batman where Penguin runs for mayor and then I figured we need the same solution here.

You see although Mayor Linseed was obviously the superior candidate Penguin was able to use a series of flashly speeches, empty promises, half-truths and outright lies to gain favor with the voters. Things looked grim for democracy so Mayor Linseed had Batman run in his stead. Batman went on to defeat the Penguin in the election (despite the fact the Penguin kept his mudslinging and his style over substance campaign).

So to ensure the democrats win the election, we need Batman to go up agains the 2004 version of Penguin. Then once he wins he can hand over power to Kerry, like he handed power over to Mayor Linseed. It's a perfect plan, I tell you. Well other than the non existence of Batman. I wonder what Adam West is up to these days...

Quote of the YesterDay: "I don't know about you guys, but I could go for some gin"
- George Takei

I didn't really expect anyone to get this quote from Alienated but the ep was on last night and I felt I had to honour Takei's awesome guest appearance.
