The Quilted Cave

Ramblings from everyone's favorite quilted super-hero.

I could do some Sunday shopping related bitching tonight but I figure I should wait until Nova Scotia officially reaffirms its status as a backwater berg before I do that (which 2 of the 3 options succeed in doing. At least in my opinion.).

While I was driving from Moncton yesterday I had a lot of time to kill. As is often the case my mind wandered through a wide variety of topics. One thing I was thinking about is the upcoming US election. For some reason this lead to me thinking about the episode of Batman where Penguin runs for mayor and then I figured we need the same solution here.

You see although Mayor Linseed was obviously the superior candidate Penguin was able to use a series of flashly speeches, empty promises, half-truths and outright lies to gain favor with the voters. Things looked grim for democracy so Mayor Linseed had Batman run in his stead. Batman went on to defeat the Penguin in the election (despite the fact the Penguin kept his mudslinging and his style over substance campaign).

So to ensure the democrats win the election, we need Batman to go up agains the 2004 version of Penguin. Then once he wins he can hand over power to Kerry, like he handed power over to Mayor Linseed. It's a perfect plan, I tell you. Well other than the non existence of Batman. I wonder what Adam West is up to these days...

- George Takei

I didn't really expect anyone to get this quote from Alienated but the ep was on last night and I felt I had to honour Takei's awesome guest appearance.

I would vote for Batman. Were he running in my country. Were he real.
