I'm home. So far it's not exactly a thrill a minute. I've currently taking refuge in my sister's room (she's at school). My dog would absolutely not leave me alone and if I put her to bed in her kennel (which is in my room) and stayed in the basement, she started howling within a couple minutes. So I had to put her to bed and then come up here. Hopefully she won't be as bad other days. She was stuck in her kennel for almost 6 hours this evening before we came home so she's probably more hyper than usual.

Now I'm finally able to relax and since there wasn't anything on TV, I'm not really missing much by not being downstairs.

I've decided to abolish the Banned Word of the Day as it just wasn't something one could keep in mind all the time. However, I did like how it made me post here every day so I'm going to replace it with the Defunct Word of the Day! I will use the magic of the internet to find words that are no longer commonly used. Each day I will attempt to use my chosen word at least once (preferably more often than that). Who knows, I may stumble upon a cool word that will spread to other people and lead to a revival of that word. Probably not, but you never know! :)

The first ever Defunct Word of the Day: Gnoff

Some of you may remember that as a former Banned Word of the Day. It basically means a crude, idiotic type person. Should be fun to use. :)

So tomorrow's the start of spring break/reading week/whatever you wish to call it. I suppose it'll be nice to have a break from class but I know I'm going to be bored out my skull most of the time. And a good chunk of the leftover time will be filled with being annoyed with parental nagging.

I'd really prefer to stay here but a number of reasons are preventing it. 1) My parents would whine if I chose to stay at Acadia; 2) I could definitely use the free groceries/possible cash donations; 3) I've got a dentist appt on Wednesday. If not for these factors, I'd totally be spending my week off right here, relaxing it up. Well, hopefully sping break will still be at least somewhat enjoyable.

Today sure has been busy. I got up at 7:45 am (probably got 5 hours of sleep or so) to grab some breakfast. Then I spent 8:30 am to 6:00 pm (with a 90 min break for a class) working a polling station for the ASU election. I also finished up an essay around there. Then I planned to go to bed around 12 or 1. Instead I ended up playing Tales of Destiny 2 from 12:30 to 3:10, which was when Runner and I accidentally beat the game. We didn't realize we were in the final dungeon as there were areas we hadn't yet gotten to. Apparently they could only be reached by leaving the final dungeon mid-way through and doing some side-quest stuff. Has to be the first time I've ever accidentally beat a game. :P

Anyhoo, it's 3:31 AM and my plan to get 9 or 10 hours of sleep seems to be shot (have to meet people at wheelock for 11:25ish). To bed I go!

Banned Word of the Day: responsible

Should be no trouble avoiding that one :P

Looking like tomorrow's gonna be a busy day. I have to work from 8 AM to 1 PM, then class from 1 PM to 2:30 PM, then working from 2:30 PM to 6 PM. After that I was supposed to also be counting ballots from 6:30 on but my name doesn't seem to be on the schedule. That's fine with me though as I don't really need to work 14 hours or so. :P
In addition to that stuff, I also have to finish up an essay (working in Jodrey for election, should be pretty quiet most of the day so ample time to finish up). But after tomorrow I've only got a couple classes left then it's a REALLY long weekend! Huzzah!

Oh, if you're voting tomorrow (which you should!) and happen to be near Rojo, stop on by and do the vote thing at the 7th coolest polling station on campus!!!!

The last couple days have seen my need for sleep decrease quite a bit. It's weird. I've known it's late, I've known it was past the point where I could get a 'full' night's sleep yet I've still not wanted to go to bed. And it's not like I've been busy. I usually just play around on the computer or something. And then I get less sleep than I normally would. The next day, I feel tired a couple times but even when I decide I'm going to nap, I never seem to actually end up napping. Well, I suppose I shouldn't complain too much. It gives me more time to laze around anyway. :P

Kinda weak Simpsons tonight.

The first act (with Henry VIII) was good. The other two not so much. I was particularly disappointed with the first half of the Mozart one (though the last 2 or 3 minutes were a hell of a lot better). Ah well, this has been a pretty good season thus far but I suppose they can't all be great.

You know, I'm really getting back into this nocturnal groove and I like it.

Things are just so much lazier after midnight. There's rarely any work to be done and everyone's just hanging out (well, not everyone, most people are asleep. The ones who happen to still be up though, usually not so much with the work).

Tonight the effortfulness actually ended pretty early. Around 7:30 or so, I finished reading Princess Bride (pretty good book btw, check it out sometime if you haven't already. I hear it's quite similar to the movie but I've never seen the movie so I can't vouch for that). Then I hit the mart, watched Dead Like Me, watched 3.5 eps of TNG with Granger (some pretty good eps too). This was followed up later by some Superfriends (it involved another universe where the Superfriends where actually the Super-Enemies, quality stuff), Futurama and a couple of hours of gaming. Nary a bit of work to be seen. :-)

My work level is pretty good right now. I have some work to do, but it's usually doable during the afternoon and/or early evening which leaves me with ample time to just relax.

Speaking of relaxation, it's time for bed! (how's that for a crappy seque?)
