It seems like your friendly neighbourhood Porcupine's a bit under the weather these days. I seem to have contracted not one but three conditions which will probably require medical assistance.
My stomach problem seems to be getting worse (which is a change from its pretty much holding steady as of late). Last night I had a few drinks and a short while later, much belching resulted. Ever since, I've been belching quite a lot (not nearly as frequently as I was last night but still quite a bit). I've already been to the doctor about this and was given a 3 month prescription to Prevacid and sent for an x-ray and an ultrasound. Neither of them turned anything up and my 3 month supply of Prevacid is getting pretty low. I'm not sure if the Prevacid ever actually helped in the first place but I really have to get back up to the doctor's. Hopefully they can figure out what the hell the deal is and fix it.
In addition, mysterious spots that have been on my neck for a while now seem to be both multiplying in number and increasing in size. A friend of mine had a similar looking thing on his back a few months back that turned out to be a fungus, so I'm thinking I probably have some sort of fungus as well (oh boy!).
And finally, for the last 2 months or so, I've been sneezing and/or feeling rather stuffed up. Seeing as these symptoms come and go, seemingly in a random fashion, I'm thinking I've probably developed allergies to somthing. I have some Claritin that seems to help with that but it tells you to consult a physician if you are planning on prolonged use.
Quite a fun trio of maladies, is it not? I think I'm going to give the doctor a call on Monday and see if I can get an appointment. Hopefully it'll be soon as I'd like to get on correcting this stuff as soon as possible.
On a totally unrelated and much more upbeat note, I've gotten myself into a little DVD purchasing kick. I'll be getting my first paycheck tomorrow and, as usual, I plan to blow it on stuff I want. I've already blown some of it tonight with the Army of Darkness 2-Disc: Boomstick Edition(yay!) and the Pulp Fiction DVD. Next on the DVD buying spree (and next will probably be either tomorrow or Sunday), is the first 3 volumes of Lexx Series 4. Lexx is an awesome series and the last season was hilarious. I've thought of buying them before and today I decided to see if they were available yet. Only half of them are so far (4 eps a volume, 24 eps in the season), but they are coming out at 2-3 month intervals so I'll probably pick the rest of them up by the end of the year.
And now I'm off to engage in a variety of wacky Friday night activities... like... uh... watching TV!
