Fun with (Search) Stats!

Since I've semi-unretired this blog and, I've got 30 minutes or so to kill since heading off to lunch, I thought I'd check out the stats from StatCounter. I hadn't looked at these in quite a while, probably not since I stopped posting here regularly.

Not surprisingly there hasn't been a ton of recent traffic but there were some interesting key-words used to find this place in search engines.

drill down114.29%what's your encore? do you anally rape my mother while pouring sugar in my gas tank?
drill down114.29%convergy job openings
drill down114.29%(scott baluka profile)
drill down114.29%quilted runner
drill down114.29%lee merriweather catwomen
drill down114.29%tomorrows beginning
drill down114.29%quilted porcupine

The first of those is a quote from Clerks, I assume I must have used it at some point during my guess the quote of the day phase. The second thing makes me feel for the poor sap who's actively looking for work at Convergys. Apparently someone was looking for a hybrid of myself and Webrunner with the quilted runner serach. The Lee Merriweather thing doesn't surprise me as that's turned up a number of times in the keyword search results. I have no idea what the 'tommorows beginning' thing is about but I just checked and it is the top search result on the MSN search engine (same with 'lee merriweather catwomen' and 'convergy job opening').

Also, though it didn't turn up in the keyword, came from says that someone found this place by searching for 'The Quilted Manor' over on dogpile.

Apparently MSN isn't as good as other search engines at recognizing when a page is dormant. When last I checked most of my search hits came from Google and Yahoo. MSN got 5 of the 8 recent ones this time around though. That wacky Microsoft.

It's Alive!

Since LJ is apparently picky about what coding it allows, I've decided that The Quilted Cave needed to be dusted off and given a shiny new counter (see to the right).

I've actually been meaning to do something secondary with this blog for a while, maybe this will finally give me the impetus to do so. Time will tell, I guess.

Edit: Hey, if I had waited just two more days to update this thing, I'd have (unintentionally) gone exactly one year between updates. How's that for rapid-fire updating action?

It has come to my attention that my the link to my livejournal isn't that clear. At some point I'll add a link to it over there ---> but that will probably be after the TVIncognito redesign and adding links to LiveJournal (which I'm going to do once I decide I want to keep the current design or not).

In the meantime, you can just click this handy dandy link:

A Change of Venue

After 2 years, 1 month 4 days and over 400 posts (blogger post counter has been broken since October so I have no way of knowing the exact number anymore without actually counting) I've decided to relocate.

For the most part I've been quite pleased with blogger and I do not regret choosing it as my posting location of choice when I did. However I've been playing around with LiveJournal for a while now (I got an account many months ago so I could post on LJ blogs without having to add my name to the end of a post) and I really like some of the features they have implemented as of late.

As you probably figured out all ready, I've decided to move my postings to there for the most part. I won't be deleting my original blog as I would like to preserve my original postings, some of which make for amusing reading when gone back through. From this point on though this is where you should go if you want to read my posts (and for those of you reading on LiveJournal (I decided to mirror this post on both Blogger and LJ to give the transition some continuity) you probably don't need to be clicking).

I'm certainly not done getting everything set up how I like it on LJ just yet and I may make the occasional post in the Quilted Cave for kicks but as of now Quilted Porcupine's place of residence is the Quilted Manor. Don't forget to wipe your feet.

Space (not the channel) Issues

Today was one of those days where I really wish I had my own place. I had things I wanted to do but it was extremely to actually accomplish anything as it seemed like I was being bothered every 5 minutes.

The things I was unable to do pretty much ran the gamut from getting a good night's sleep (ruined when people decide to crank the TV and talk loudly in the living room) to working on my website to watching TV to simply have a relaxing hour or two to myself. I didn't acheive any of those things until everyone else in the house went to bed (and even then I still didn't get anything productive done as I was too frustrated from a day of constant bugging).

In a way I feel I shouldn't be complaining too much as I'm getting free room and board but the constant interruptions were EXTREMELY annoying today (more so than usual). I'm hoping things will be less annoying tomorrow and I can actually get stuff done.

Slidingy

Okay, I've slid across the room 3 times in the last half-hour after sitting down in this chair.

This room needs some friction! And no, not that kind of friction... perv.

Thank God for Sundays!
(sorry, couldn't resist. The 'ironing' was just way too delicious)

Another good Sunday day o' work today as is becoming habit.

To start the day the call volume is pretty low in the morning and for at least a good portion of the afternoon. This means that there is a lot of availability so for much of the day you can just hang out and talk about random stuff. Then Krista, Jon and I(and sometimes Richard) go for our traditional hour of McDonald's lunching. Then it's back to Covnergy's where the call volume may or may not have picked up to finish off the shift and start off the weekend.

The only real drawback to Sunday used to have was the earlier start time but now that I work 11-7 every day that's no longer a factor. Out of all the days in the work week, it's gotta be the least effortful and most fun. :)

Plus it's often followed up with a new Simpsons! (like tonight's highly hilarious episode (one of the best ones I've seen in a while))
