I watched A LOT of stuff today. I got up fairly early (around 10 AM), Granger left around 11:45 AM and then between now and then I've had not a whole lot to do. I picked up a few groceries, finished Doll House, had a couple meals, showered and did some writing but outside of that it's been nothing but lying around watching stuff. I know that seems like a fairly packed list but it really isn't. There's been a lot of time with little to do. I watched 6 eps of Futurama, two eps of Farscape and an ep of MST3K.

The problem is basically that while there's a lot to do in Moncton, I don't really have anyone to do things with (unless someone's visiting from NS (which is pretty rare)). So on my days off, things can get a bit monotonous. I'll be getting another game this coming week and that'll help add to the variety of things but until I make some friends around here things are going to stay fairly dull, I imagine.

I didn't really notice the dullness/loneliness at first with the adjusting to having a new job, living in a new city, having my own room, being almost completely independent, but I do notice it now. It was bugging me in a subconcious way for the last month or so but I didn't realize it consciously until after the weekend gathernig in Pictou County.

Sitting around and hanging out with my friends while watching a crappy movie, playing a game or having a few drinks is something that was standard at Acadia but something that has been greatly lacking from my life in Moncton. The weekend was a blast but afterwards it made me realize how much I missed those simple things.

When I first got to Moncton I kind of expected I'd make friends with people at work sooner or later. I have done so to an extent. There are people who I hang out with at lunch and talk to quite a bit at work but from what I can tell there's not a whole lot of carry over with people hanging out at work and hanging out outside of work (just based on conversations people have about things they are doing on the weekend and things like that). The vast majority of people at work already have their circle of friends from school and so there's no need for them to add to that circle. I'm sure there are still additions and stuff but as I'm sure most of you know I'm not exactly the most outgoing person. I make friends rather slowly so if I'm to form a good friendship I need a good enviroment in which to do so. Said enviroment isn't really present at work.

Right now I'm just kinda hoping that sooner or later I'll end up getting a roommate or roommates who share a lot of interests with me. My previous fellow roommates have all been a fair bit older than me and into things like cars and sports which really don't interest me a whole hell of a lot. I liked them as people well enough but we never really talked all that much.

One of my roommates actually moved out this week and the other is supposed to do so sometime next week so at some point in the not too distant future I will be getting new roommates. Whether they'll be good roommates or not though remains to be seen.

On the computer front, my new computer is now in Moncton (and has been since 4 AM Saturday morning). I kind of expected Purolator would show up with at some point today but they did not do so. I'm not sure if they deliver from wherever it is in Moncton right now on the weekend or not. If they don't do delivery but they are open tomorrow I'll probably go pick my computer up I'll be working on Monday and Tuesday.
