A rather unusual day today. First I had to get up early so my sister and I could take my grandfather up to NG for his appointment at the hospital.
While the trip was going on I happened to notice that I seemed to be having stabbing pain in my left ear every couple minutes. It seemed quite probable that I was getting or had an ear infection so I figured I'd go for a nap when I got home in hopes that it would get better.
While napping I had a bizarre dream where I went on a road trip with a seemingly random grouping of my friends including one friend I've not seen or even talked to since she graduated last year. There were all sorts of weird problems like having to push the car when it almost went into a river (it was somehow in the middle of the river on a tiny island). I think the oddest one was when I, while sitting in the front passenger seat, had to lean over and push down on the brake AND steer the car (I think the driver got out or went into the backseat or something) while the car went down a dirt hill and into a turn/tunnel (also made of dirt). Good times.
When I woke up the ear thing was still going on so I just played some XIII, lounged and grimaced in pain every couple minutes until supper. After supper I went for another nap as I was still hoping to make my ear better and my sister was using the TV to watch Aladin on tape (our card stopped working last night).
The next nap wasn't very long but the ear thing stopped (at least for now) so it was a success. I got up around the same time my sister finished her movie and I was going to watch Futurama on DVD. My sister asked if we could watch a movie though so we did that instead. Of my movies there were only a couple she wanted to see that she hadn't already seen (Pulp Fiction and Res Dogs). She left the decision up to me and I went with Res Dogs as I've not seen it nearly as much (even though I don't think it's quite as good as Pulp). My sister bitched quite heartily at the end when she didn't get a happy ending. My sister, for some reason, has a strong dislike for non-happy endings in her movies (though oddly enough not in books and the like). I think she liked the movie overall but she wasn't happy with the ending.
My parents then arrived home and I asked my mom to reprogram the card but she A) couldn't remember how and B) lost the instructions. So I spend about 90 minutes tinkering with it before I finally got the info/programs/etc and got it working. I got to watch about 5 minutes of the Simpsons episode about how stealing cable is bad and then it went out again (oh, the irony!). So then I spent another 45 mins or so on a better computer playing with it and got it working (and as of now, it still is).
Wow, this is much longer and rambly than usual. Ah well, I'm not the one who has to read it.
Quote of the YesterDay: "This always happens. People throw me out of the window, tell me I'm Puma Man, then leave."
Not surprised nobody got this. As far as I know I'm the only person I know who has seen this particular episode of MST3K. It is taken from the ep where they watch Puma Man. A great episode.
Quote of the Day: "Oh how awful. Did he at least die peacefully?
[pause]
To shreds you say, tsk tsk tsk. Well, how's his wife holding up?
[pause]
To shreds, you say."
