I'm home for the weekend so updating happens. This update should have been done last night in accordance with my normal update procedure but on the way home from NG I suddenly got very tired. I also realized that my dog had probably been sleeping for quite a while so if she got excited she'd probably not want to go to bed for quite a long time. So when I got in, I set the VCR to record Superfriends et al, brushed my teeth and went to bed. The dog actually went from her kennel to the bed and thus seemed content to stay asleep. It was around this time I remembered about the blog. So I decided I'd do it in the morning rather than risk having to stay up till 4 or 5 AM when I was really tired.

Moncton's going pretty well so far. The place I'm staying at is nice and the job seems decent. Training's a bit slow but that's basically because there are some people in the class who know a whole lot about computers and others who don't know that much. We have started getting into how to use some of their diagnostic tools and such though so it's not as boring as when we were covering e-mail settings. I'm going to be answering calls from Ontario and Quebec so if you're ever in one of those provinces and in need of help getting on the internet, you could get me on the phone.

Still no progress on the new laptop front and the old one is worse than it was. The CD-rom drive has decided it doesn't want to stay closed anymore. I'm guessing a spring popped out or something but I can't actually get at it. I did call and ask Aliant to set my phone line up though and once I've got that I'll be getting dial-up (at least till I get my new laptop, then I'll hopefully switch over to high-speed).

On the transportation issue it looks like I might not need to rely on buses and taxis. My dad bought me an old car. It's not the prettiest car but if it manages to run all week, I'll be taking it back to Moncton with me next weekend. It seems pretty good for $600 but time will tell on that one I guess.

Quote of the YesterWednesDay: "Next time you have a cat caught up a tree, and you need the government's help, don't call me."

This one came from a government special agent who wasn't getting along very well with Socrates on The Adventures of Brisco Country, Jr.. I'm not really surprised nobody got it as far few people I know have seen the show. If you have high-speed I highly recommend grabbing it off of Supernova. The style of the show kinda reminds me of the lighter Xena eps except with more Bruce Campbell, less Greek stuff and more Westerny. You don't have to like Westerns to enjoy it though (I don't watch any Westerns myself yet I love this show).
